When selecting an outdoor LED display, in addition to resolution, six other key factors must be considered

Compared to indoor LED displays, outdoor LED displays require higher resolution standards to meet display performance under long-distance or high ambient light conditions. Traditional LCD monitors can only achieve a resolution of 1024×768, while practical test data shows that outdoor applications demand a minimum resolution of 1920×1200 for normal display under sunlight. For LED advertising machines, "resolution" will not pose a significant obstacle to their widespread adoption.

However, outdoor environments are highly variable. To ensure outdoor LED displays can adapt to chaotic conditions, what else besides "resolution" is required for outdoor LED displays besides high resolution?

Outdoor LED displays must be waterproof and dustproof: For full outdoor use, waterproofing and dustproofing are the primary concerns. The protective rating of the display equipment's housing must meet waterproof standards, typically reaching IPX5, allowing normal operation during heavy rain. Dust is a critical factor that reduces product efficiency and accelerates aging. Outdoor display equipment must feature specialized dustproof structures and dustproof filters, achieving a dustproof rating of IP65.

Outdoor LED displays require intelligent constant temperature: Outdoor advertising machines generate heat primarily from three sources during operation—solar radiation, air convection, and internal electronic component heating. Depending on regional temperature differences and equipment placement orientation, LCD advertising machines must adopt a tailored temperature control solution. Some employ air conditioning cooling, while others use forced air cooling. However, regardless of the cooling method, products generally meet operational requirements of -30°C to 55°C in temperature and 10% to 90% in humidity.

Outdoor LED displays must be resistant to breakage and theft: Outdoor display equipment is typically used in public outdoor spaces, where both public safety and the security of the equipment itself are critical considerations. Most outdoor display devices employ special tempered laminated glass, which, even if broken, can only produce fine cracks resembling spider webs. The fragments remain firmly adhered to the middle layer, preventing injuries or property damage from falling glass. Additionally, to address theft prevention, exposed screws should be avoided, and anti-theft locks along with sturdy structural supports should be incorporated to resolve security concerns.

Outdoor LED displays must be lightning-proof: To achieve all-weather outdoor playback performance, outdoor display equipment also requires reliable lightning protection control design to ensure safety during thunderstorms.

Outdoor LED displays should be anti-reflective: In outdoor environments, ensuring clear and visible interfaces is crucial, and anti-reflection is an important aspect to consider. It is necessary to use glass treated with special coatings to enhance the viewing angle and resolution of the display while reducing screen glare.

Anti-electromagnetic interference: The uncontrollable nature of outdoor environments makes the anti-electromagnetic interference capability of outdoor display equipment crucial. While we cannot alter the outdoor environment, we can employ shielding measures for the internal electrical components of the equipment. This effectively blocks interference from internal components and cables on signals while also preventing external electromagnetic interference from affecting LED products.
