In April, it rains as soon as it rains.

Continuous rain and pervasive humidity often make the persistence of outdoor screens fragile - the images flicker and the lights dim, as if they will be extinguished by wind and rain at any time.

Why must optoelectronic devices be protected against moisture?

The core of optoelectronic devices are chips, circuits and solder joints. These precision structures are highly sensitive to water vapor. Once the LED device gets damp, the water vapor will penetrate into the inside of the lamp bead, and it will react electrochemically with halogen and other substances when the power is on, causing the chip to short circuit, leakage or lose electrodes, and the display will cause abnormalities such as blind lights and string lights. A high-humidity environment will also accelerate the aging of packaging materials, reduce insulation performance, and significantly shorten device life. Whether it is rain, condensation, and salt spray outdoors, or indoors in bathrooms, kitchens, and underground spaces, moisture is everywhere.

To prevent moisture, we must start from the source.

First stop: LED lamp bead storage

During transportation and storage, the lamp beads need to be elevated with objects and treated with waterproofing and moisture-proofing.

Second stop: LED lamp beads online

The lamp beads must be baked and dehumidified before mounting. We have corresponding baking plans for different products and moisture levels.

Third stop: LED module packaging

When storing or transporting modules and boxes, they should be vacuum packed or sealed with desiccant. At the same time, avoid installing the screen at the same time as the project being renovated. The construction site environment is uncontrollable. If the screen is left unused in a humid environment for a long time, there will be great hidden dangers.

The fourth stop: Nationstar’s self-developed packaging technology

The first three stops are basic protection, but the traditional module itself does not have a sealing design, and water vapor can always find gaps to get in. Once invaded, the line will quietly "sick": the pixels will start to flicker and the brightness will slowly dim.
