Will glass-based Micro LED speed up? Tianma will reveal new progress

As core technologies such as the mass transfer of Micro LED and driver chips become increasingly mature, and superimposed production capacity is gradually released, the glass-based Micro LED industry is accelerating into the critical stage of engineering mass production, and the industry development has pressed the "fast forward button".

As core players, LED display panel manufacturers are also focusing on increasing their glass-based Micro LED technology routes in 2025. Companies such as Tianma Microelectronics, BOE, and Nitron Optoelectronics have achieved new breakthroughs in production capacity construction and product innovation.

Among them, Tianma Microelectronics not only achieved small batch shipments of standardized display unit modules, but also successfully lit up the first automotive standard product, forming a full-link coverage from technology research and development to mass production and shipment of standard products.

Facing 2026, what new stage of development will glass-based Micro LED usher in, and what opportunities and challenges will it face?

Experts say that the latest news about Display is that on March 4, Xi Kerui, vice president of Tianma Microelectronics Micro LED Research Institute, will be invited to attend the "LED Display and MLED Industry Chain 2026 Blueprint Summit" and share the theme of "TFT-based Micro LED Industrialization Exploration and Layout".

It is reported that Tianma Microelectronics has been laying out Micro LED technology since 2017, focusing on the two core application scenarios of vehicle-mounted display and spliced display, while actively exploring large-size screens, consumer displays, wearable displays, and professional display applications; currently, the company has successively released Micro LED display products such as high transparency, seamless splicing, adjustable transparency, ultra-low anti-transparency, and ultra-high PPI.

In terms of production capacity layout, Tianma Microelectronics' G3.5 generation Micro LED production line will successfully light up the product in 2024. The production line covers the entire process from mass transfer to final display module manufacturing; in 2025, relying on this production line, small batch shipments of standardized display unit modules will be achieved.

In terms of product technology, Tianma Microelectronics continues to make breakthroughs in 2025: In November, it released a 108-inch 4K seamlessly spliced Micro LED large screen based on all-laser mass transfer technology; in December, it further launched a 135-inch 4K+ seamlessly spliced Micro LED large screen, achieving further upgrades in dimensions such as size, extreme contrast, wide color gamut, ultra-high brightness, seamless splicing, and ultra-low reflection.

In addition, at CES At the 2026 exhibition, Tianma Microelectronics focused on demonstrating its first all-laser giant transfer 108-inch seamless splicing Micro-LED unlimited giant screen; according to reports, this product is equipped with an all-laser mass transfer process and advanced seamless splicing technology, with peak brightness The brightness reaches 1500nits, the reflectivity is controlled within 2%, and the seam width is reduced to less than 20μm. With a top contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, the ACR contrast ratio is >30000:1 under 10lux ambient light.
