Sony launches new direct display LED products, supported by Nova Nebula

Recently, Sony released its latest direct display LED product-Crystal LED S series. Sony’s official website emphasizes that this series of new products, integrated with the Nova Nebula COEX series control system, can bring users a smoother and more convenient experience.

According to the latest news from Display, on March 4, Lin Xianmeng, director of Nova Nebula Central Research Institute, will attend the 2026 Experts’ opening event "LED Display and MLED Industry Chain 2026 Blueprint Summit" and deliver a keynote speech on "Crossing Diverse Scenario Challenges: Innovation and Advancement of LED Display Control Systems".

According to Nova Nebula’s official Weibo, the COEX series is Nova Nebula’s flagship control system, with technical advantages such as single-port 8K input, 22bit+ image quality engine, and modular design. In this official announcement, Sony proactively mentioned the advantages of integration with the Nova Nebula control system, indicating that Nova Nebula technology, product performance and services have been highly recognized by top international brands.

At the same time, Nova Nebula said that its COEX flagship control system is deeply adapted to the Sony Crystal LED S series, providing full-link technical support around its three core capabilities of "real color, lower power consumption, and long-term stability".

Behind the full-link technology, Nova’s three core algorithms provide support.

1. Image quality engine algorithm: achieve true color restoration with 22-bit high dynamic range

The Sony S series is specially designed for "accurate color rendering". Its 22-bit image processing link can reproduce true colors such as corporate logos and skin colors.

Behind this, there is the work of Nova COEX’s image quality engine algorithm. According to reports, the COEX system is equipped with 22bit+ and fine grayscale algorithms, which can increase the grayscale by 64 times and achieve precise brightness control at 0.002nits level. The full-link automatic correction achieves ultimate color accuracy, allowing the S series to present original color-level natural image quality in various brightness environments.

2. Dynamic engine algorithm: While improving image quality, it also achieves green and energy saving

Behind the core selling point of Sony's S series "lower power consumption", the dynamic engine algorithm equipped by Nova COEX uses real-time frame-level image analysis to achieve high-contrast performance with highlights that are not overexposed and details in the shadows; it can also perform dynamic light and dark management of the panel, which can reduce system power consumption and is green and energy-saving.

3. Adaptive thermal compensation algorithm: completely eliminate LED display color deviation caused by thermal effects

The efficient heat dissipation design of Sony S series can reduce the color accuracy deviation of LED screens caused by thermal effects, making the display more durable and accurate. Nova Nebula said that behind this is the cooperation of Nova's adaptive thermal compensation technology.

It is reported that Nova Nebula's adaptive thermal compensation algorithm can calculate the changes in the thermal characteristics of the cabinet in real time and dynamically adjust the thermal compensation coefficient, accurately solving problems such as color temperature drift, red stripes, and bluish coloring of the power supply and driver IC positions caused by uneven temperature distribution in different areas of the screen, thereby ensuring accurate presentation of the color and color temperature of the cabinet.

In addition, for various application scenarios of Sony S series, such as conference rooms, classrooms, public spaces, etc., the VMP software equipped with Nova COEX can provide efficient configuration, monitoring and scene management capabilities. Functions such as canvas layout, full status monitoring, and one-click switching of scenes facilitate complex deployment and full-time stable operation.
