From January 6th to 9th, US time, CES 2026 Consumer Electronics Show was held in Las Vegas.
As a benchmark in the global consumer electronics field, this exhibition focuses on the technological iteration direction of the display industry. Mini LED and Micro LED technologies have become the core focus with a number of breakthrough developments, marking the two major technologies entering a critical period of change for large-scale application and scenario expansion.
1) In the field of Mini LED backlight technology, the differentiation of technical routes and the differentiated competition pattern have become increasingly clear. RGB-Mini LED and SQD-Mini LED have become the core competitiveness of high-end display products. Manufacturers represented by Hisense are promoting technology upgrades, and 2026 has shown a clear trend of large-scale promotion of RGB-Mini LED, which is expected to be the first year of its popularization.
In terms of SQD-Mini LED, TCL, as the core promoter of this technology, has decentralized the SQD-Mini LED technology that was originally exclusive to high-end models to the mainstream product line, and accelerated the popularization of the technology through the improvement of the product matrix.
2) With the core technical advantages of high brightness and high contrast, low power consumption, long life, high reliability, and the ability to achieve transparent/spatial display, Micro LED is accelerating its penetration into multiple subdivided application fields and has become a key force driving the upgrading of the display industry.
Specifically, the automotive display field is one of the core breakthrough directions of Micro LED technology, and head display manufacturers such as BOE, Tianma, and AUO focused on displaying related products. In the field of wearable devices, 15 smart glasses brands have unveiled products equipped with Micro LED technology. AUO and Vuereal have demonstrated Micro LED watches and related applications. In the field of commercial displays, innovative products such as wood grain screens and commercial interactive displays have been launched one after another, further enriching the commercial application scenarios of Micro LED.
