[Guangzhou, China, May 8, 2026] The first phase of TCL Huaxing’s 8.6th generation printed OLED production line project (referred to as the “t8 project”) has officially capped.
With the main structure of the main factory successfully capped and the cleaning project started simultaneously, the construction of the world's first printed OLED G8.6 generation production line has officially entered a new stage.
According to reports, Deng Yinghao, Assistant President of TCL Technology Group and Vice President of TCL CSOT, Zhang Caili, Vice President of TCL CSOT, Xi Wenbo, Vice President of TCL CSOT, Dr. Cao Weiran, Director of TCL CSOT Printing OLED Center, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau and project construction personnel attended the project capping ceremony to witness this important moment.
▋ The key node was successfully reached and the production line construction entered a new stage
The t8 project is TCL Huaxing's strategic project for the layout of next-generation display technology and an important carrier for industrial upgrading of printed OLED technology. The total investment in the project is approximately 29.5 billion yuan, with a designed monthly processing capacity of approximately 22,500 glass substrates.
According to TCL CSOT, since the main start of the project on November 30, 2025, with the support of the full-cycle preparation service system, the construction efficiency has continued to accelerate. It took 151 days to complete the entire process from the main start to the capping, refreshing the industry's "fastest capping" record, running out of "Guangzhou speed", demonstrating "TCL Huaxing efficiency".
Dr. Cao Weiran, director of the OLED Center of TCL Huaxing Printing, said that this "advance" is the result of the joint efforts of all builders and partners with their wisdom and sweat. As the world's first G8.6-generation large-scale mass-produced printed OLED production line, the t8 project is a major breakthrough for TCL Huaxing to achieve independent leadership and global leadership in the next-generation display technology route. The implementation of this production line will promote the upgrade of the display industry from traditional evaporation to green, efficient, high-yield, and highly adaptable printed OLED routes, break the long-term single technology pattern of high-generation OLEDs, and help TCL CSOT achieve a key leap from following to parallel to leading, further consolidating its global leading position in the new display field.
At the ceremony, leaders of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau and China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau successively took the stage to deliver speeches and said that the t8 project completed the main structure capping node ahead of schedule, setting a new high in construction efficiency compared with previous similar projects. In the future, we will work closely with all participating units to advance various construction tasks with high quality.
After the main factory building is capped, the project will fully enter the clean room construction, power system installation and core equipment moving stages. The team will strictly control project quality and construction nodes, and use large-scale high-end production capacity to help improve the industrial ecology and make technology independent and controllable.
▋ Technology accumulation continues to deepen, building a new engine for upgrading the new display industry
TCL Huaxing has been deeply involved in printing OLED display technology for 13 years, and has built a complete capability system from research and development to mass production. Among them, the Wuhan G5.5 generation printed OLED production line (t12) has achieved mass production and product delivery in November 2024, accumulating mature experience for the construction of high-generation production lines. Relying on years of process iteration and yield optimization, TCL Huaxing has formed industry-leading printed OLED display technology reserves and engineering implementation capabilities, providing solid support for the efficient advancement of the t8 project.
As the world's first large-scale mass-produced G8.6-generation printed OLED production line, the t8 project uses an inkjet printing process to accurately print organic light-emitting materials onto a 2290×2620mm 8.6-generation glass substrate in an "on-demand deposition" method. Compared with traditional vacuum evaporation, it has significant advantages such as higher material utilization, better potential yield, and greener and more efficient production. The project focuses on the medium-sized high-end display market and can cover multiple application scenarios such as professional displays, laptops, desktop monitors, tablets, and vehicle-mounted displays, and continues to improve the supply capacity of high-end display products. TCL CSOT printed OLED has realized a complete technological transition path from pilot line to mass production line to high-generation large-scale production line.
In the future, relying on the construction and mass production of the t8 project, TCL CSOT stated that it will continue to strengthen its technological innovation and engineering capabilities, gradually build an OLED product matrix covering multiple sizes and multiple scenarios, bring the ultimate display experience to global users with more leading technology and better products, and inject lasting power into the high-quality development of the new display industry.
