Meta will launch two new smart glasses products this year

During Meta’s 2025 first quarter earnings conference call, Mark Zuckerberg announced that he would launch a new smart glasses product this year, and also revealed that Meta’s cooperation with glasses industry giant EssilorLuxottica will be further deepened and expanded.

Zuckerberg said: "The results of our new collaboration with EssilorLuxottica will be unveiled later this year. Several exciting new products will inject new technological vitality into this product field."

According to many authoritative media reports, Meta plans to launch two smart glasses with different styles but both very attractive. One of them is a co-branded pair of glasses created with Oakley, a well-known sports eyewear brand. From the perspective of functional positioning, this Oakley co-branded smart glasses have similar functions to the existing Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, and will continue Meta’s concept of combining practicality and fashion in the field of smart glasses.

Another new product is a high-end smart glasses equipped with a head-up display. The integration of head-up display technology will bring users an unprecedented visual experience and information interaction method, making this glasses a qualitative leap in functions and usage scenarios, and is expected to become a high-end benchmark product in the smart glasses market.

Since its release in October 2023, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have quickly won the favor of the market with their unique design and rich functions, becoming Meta's growth engine in this field. Zuckerberg revealed at the conference that sales of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will show explosive growth in 2024, with a year-on-year increase of up to three times.

Meta CFO Susan Li also shared positive data on user usage of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses during the earnings call. She pointed out that the number of monthly active users of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses has increased fourfold compared with last year, which fully reflects the continued use of the product by users. and high dependence.
