ICDT 2026 TCL Huaxing Printing OLED and LTPO technology won the

[Chongqing, China, April 1, 2026] The 2026 International Display Technology Exhibition kicked off at the Chongqing International Expo Center. During the period, the results of the selection of "China's Top Ten Breakthroughs in the Display Industry in the Past Ten Years" were announced. TCL CSOT stood out from many participating projects with its leapfrog breakthroughs in two core display technologies, "Commercialization of Printed OLED Technology" and "LTPO Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide Display Technology", and was successfully selected as one of the "Top Ten Breakthroughs in China's Display Industry in the Past Ten Years."

The "Top Ten Breakthrough Developments in China's Display Industry in the Past Ten Years" award was professionally reviewed by the 52-member SID Beijing Branch technical expert review committee and represents the key achievements and honors of technological innovation in China's semiconductor display industry. This is not only an authoritative recognition of TCL CSOT's long-term dedication to semiconductor display and its insistence on technological innovation, but also marks that China's display industry is accelerating its transition from "follower" to "technology definer" and "ecological leader".

Printed OLED: Advancing from the “no man’s land”

Accelerate large-scale implementation with productization capabilities

As the first new OLED technology path in the display field that is led by a Chinese company and has entered the commercial stage, TCL Huaxing has been working hard in the field of printed OLED for thirteen years. Through long-term investment and systematic research, it has established a comprehensive leading advantage in materials, processes, equipment and mass production ramp-up.

Currently, printed OLED has significant differentiated competitiveness. In terms of image quality, Real Stripe RGB can be implemented in multiple product lines. The text display is sharper and the color maintains higher consistency under different brightness. It is suitable for monitors, laptops, tablets and other scenes that require higher text sharpness and color stability, bringing a homogeneous and same-color visual experience on multiple screens. In addition, TCL CSOT has also extended printed OLED technology to the field of flexible panels. For example, the Lenovo Legion Pro roll-screen concept notebook based on the flexible characteristics of printed OLED was unveiled at CES 2026 this year and quickly became the focus. This indicates that TCL CSOT is pushing printed OLED display technology to consumers in the fastest way through joint research and creation with leading customers, and continues to accelerate the commercialization process of products.

TCL Huaxing is "step by step and proceeding steadily" in the commercialization process of printed OLED. In November 2024, the G5.5 generation printed OLED production line in Wuhan achieved mass production and delivered the first medical display product. The yield rate increased to more than 70% in a short period, verifying the mass production feasibility and ramping ability of the process route. On this basis, in October 2025, the world's first mass-produced G8.6-generation printed OLED production line officially started construction in Guangzhou, marking the acceleration of high-generation printed OLED into the stage of mass production.

LTPO technology

Break the technology monopoly and achieve technological leadership

At the same time, the breakthrough "LTPO low-temperature polycrystalline oxide display technology" was selected. It innovatively combines the high electron mobility of LTPS and the low leakage current characteristics of Oxide. Through unique Mask layer optimization and doping processes, from WQ LTPO technology to partitioned frequency LTPO technology, and then to CMOS LTPO technology, TCL Huaxing has successfully overcome process complexity, broken overseas technology monopoly, and gradually achieved global leadership in subdivisions. Among them, LTPO partitioning and frequency banding technology was the first in the industry and achieved leadership; CMOS LTPO technology achieved the world's lowest driving power consumption; innovative research and development of the world's first Tandem+LTPO folding laptop also became the largest LTPO panel in mass production, and helped diversify high-end products with new folding forms.

For mobile phones, products such as the world's first mass-produced partitioned frequency OLED mobile phone display, the world's first mass-produced 2K LTPO ultra-narrow bezel four-curved screen, and the world's lowest driving power consumption OLED mobile phone screen will be unveiled at ICDT 2026. Among them, the world's first mass-produced partitioned frequency OLED mobile phone display achieves independent frequency control of two or three partitions on an OLED screen for the first time through technological innovation, giving the screen "intelligent scheduling" capabilities - the video area maintains smooth high brushing, and the status area automatically saves power at low frequencies; TCL CSOT launches the world's lowest driving power consumption OLED mobile phone screen, which uses LTPO technology to dynamically adjust the refresh rate and switch freely between 1 and 120Hz, significantly reducing power consumption. This product is the world's first CMOS GOA circuit that introduces IGZO in the GOA area to realize partitioned frequency dividing function. Compared with the previous generation partitioned frequency dividing technology, the power consumption at 120Hz high frequency is reduced by 7.9%, the power consumption in partitioned frequency dividing mode is reduced by 13.2%, and the power consumption at 10Hz is reduced by 9.8%, taking into account environmental protection, energy saving and high-quality visual experience.

For IT equipment, the world's first mass-produced Tandem LTPO folding notebook display is the largest Tandem display currently in mass production. It is also the first time in the commercial PC field to combine Tandem technology with LTPO adaptive refresh technology. This product achieves a 2 million:1 contrast ratio, 3.3K resolution, a screen-to-body ratio of 92%, and accurate color performance, making it suitable for professional creation and high-definition viewing. The adaptive refresh rate and energy-saving LTPO technology enable the screen to dynamically adjust the refresh rate according to the content. Combined with Tandem technology, the overall energy consumption is optimized by 30%, taking into account high smoothness and low power consumption, which can effectively extend battery life. Compared with ordinary OLED screens, the power consumption is reduced by more than 30%, and the service life is extended to more than 3 times that of ordinary OLED screens. It completely breaks the dilemma between "large screen" and "portability" and realizes the mobile office ideal of "one device, two forms".

From technological breakthroughs to application implementation, TCL Huaxing relies on the advanced display technology brand APEX to transform profound technical capabilities into user-perceivable and verifiable value commitments, and continues to invest in OLED, LCD, MLED and other display technologies around the four major dimensions of "more pleasant display experience, more reliable visual health, more sustainable green and low carbon, and more unlimited future imagination". In the future, TCL CSOT will continue to collaborate with global industry chain partners to promote technological innovation and industrial innovation, build future-oriented display solutions, and make "intelligent manufacturing in China" synonymous with "a good screen".
