CES 2026: RGB-Mini LED is on the rise

On January 6, the CES 2026 Consumer Electronics Show officially opened, focusing on consumer electronics such as TVs and monitors. Looking at the products, the TV market shows the following trends:

1. 2026 may officially become the first year of the popularization of RGB-Mini LED. Hisense, Samsung, TCL, Sony, LG, Huike, Toshiba and other well-known TV brands have released or displayed RGB-Mini LED TVs.

2. The number of 100-inch TVs is increasing. In addition to technology and AI empowerment for high-end products, large size has become an obvious trend, and basically all TV manufacturers have launched 100-inch products.

3. TV color gamut revolution. RGB-Mini LED technology can bring significant color gamut upgrades. In addition to RGB-Mini LED, SQD-Mini LED technology also further upgrades the color gamut. The currently popular TV color gamut basically reaches 100%-110% BT.2020.

PS: For more information on CES 2026 exhibitors, please continue to pay attention to Experts Say Display. We will continue to report in the future.

▋ Hisense: Focused on displaying the new generation RGB-Mini LED TV UX

At CES 2026, Hisense focused on displaying its latest release of the new generation RGB-Mini LED TV UX, which will be launched in China in March.

According to reports, the core upgrades of the new generation of RGB-Mini LED technology focus on key directions such as light source, image quality chip and color management. At the light source level, Hisense innovatively launched the exquisite 4-core true-color backlight architecture, which adds a fourth azure self-luminous chip to the traditional RGB three primary color light-emitting chips. This world-first design directly breaks the color gamut boundaries of traditional display technology.

It is worth noting that Hisense also announced a 163-inch Micro LED TV at the pre-CES press conference. The biggest difference of this Micro LED TV is that Hisense has added yellow sub-pixels in addition to RGB sub-pixels.

Hisense believes that the color performance of Micro LED has reached its limit, and this limit can be exceeded by adding yellow LED to the three primary colors of red, green and blue. Hisense claims that it can now achieve 100% BT.2020 color coverage, but the peak brightness of this TV has not yet been announced; it is expected to sell for more than $100,000.

▋ TCL: Focus on displaying SQD-Mini LED and other products

At the exhibition, TCL unveiled its TCL X11L series, the world's first printed OLED car screen and other products, as well as display technologies such as NXTPAPER eye protection display.

According to reports, the large-size TCL X11L series TV made its debut in North America, equipped with SQD-Mini LED technology. The 98-inch version of this product has 20,736 Vientiane partitions and an ultra-high contrast ratio of 800,000:1. Also on display are the A400 Pro QD-Mini LED art TV and the flagship QD-Mini LED TV QM9K launched in 2025.

It is worth mentioning that TCL held a new SQD-Mini LED TV product launch conference on January 5 and officially launched two flagship SQD-Mini LED TVs, Q10M Pro and Q10M. The prices start at 9,999 yuan and will be officially launched on January 15. The launch of this new product not only enriches TCL's high-end TV product line, but also accelerates the popularization process of SQD-Mini LED technology.

▋ Samsung: Displaying 130-inch Micro RGB TV

Samsung Electronics launched the world's first 130-inch Micro RGB TV at this CES 2026 show, marking a further expansion of the size of its Micro RGB TVs; current Samsung Micro RGB TV sizes include 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch, 100-inch, 115-inch and 130-inch.

This TV has a 100% BT.2020 wide color gamut and uses a bezel design to minimize visual interference. This Samsung TV is powered by Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Color Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro. It uses AI technology to enhance dim tones and optimize contrast. Whether in bright or dark scenes, it can present vivid colors and fine details, resulting in realistic picture effects and extremely high picture quality.

In addition, Samsung also demonstrated a Micro LED transparent screen. At the CES conference, Samsung stated that 2026 will be a critical year for Samsung’s video display business. Micro RGB and OLED will lead the high-end TV market, Mini LED will increase the popularity of high-end TV technology, and oversized displays will further enhance users’ immersive entertainment experience at home and other places.

▋ LG: Release Micro RGB evo

In CES 2026, LG released a super-size series of Micro RGB TVs: including 100-inch, 86-inch and 75-inch models. The maximum brightness can reach 4000 nits, which is brighter than the screen of ordinary OLED TVs and complies with BT2020 and Adobe RGB international color reproduction standards.

LG says Micro RGB evo is its first RGB TV, surpassing Micro RGB. It has been certified to have triple 100% color coverage and is equipped with the same alpha 11 AI processor as OLED. With 13 years of OLED technology accumulation, the processor can control 8.3 million pixels and is equipped with a Micro RGB engine, allowing Micro RGB technology and Micro Dimming Ultra to give full play to the pixel accuracy, speed and performance advantages of OLED evo.

▋ Huike: Launch of 100-inch RGB-Mini LED TV

HKC Huike has launched a new 100-inch RGB-MiniLED TV. The TV has built-in 9216 high-brightness RGB flip-chip MiniLED lamp beads. Compared with the traditional MiniLED backlight, it has a more refined 2304×3 partition design. Different partitions are matched with independent chip control of R, G, and B wicks in each lamp bead, allowing backlight control to be precise to the pixel level.

This TV achieves over 100% full coverage of the five color gamuts of sRGB, NTSC, AdobeRGB, DCI-P3, and REC709, and can restore the most realistic colors. 1700nits full-screen high-brightness configuration, paired with Huike's commercial-grade low-reflection screen, and dual buff blessings make the screen "bright and transparent, and black and deep." There is no need to draw the curtains during the day, and the picture remains clear and sharp under strong light conditions, and the colors do not fade; when watching movies at night, the dark field is full of depth and the contrast between light and dark is stronger. You can see the details of the night scene clearly without irritating your eyes due to strong light, and you can enjoy a comfortable viewing experience all day long.

This TV’s RGB-MiniLED backlight integrates Huike’s self-developed PQ algorithm and AI PQ algorithm, which can intelligently optimize picture parameters and accurately adjust color and brightness according to different content types. It also supports 4K@165Hz MEMC motion compensation technology, allowing immersive viewing of high-speed sports events, action blockbusters, etc.
